I am currently working on a significant project that permits re-encoding and streaming of DVDs in an adaptive QoS framework (Qstream) with retention of the interactive menus. I have developed a metadata format that represents DVD content in a relatively high-level format and a database format compatible with Qstream. The streaming protocol supports interactive exchange of messages that provides a user experience identical to that of local dvd playback.
I have also spent significant time researching video codec that uses MCTF, an application of the wavelet transform in the time domain to video to develop a scalable video codec.
Other interests include operating system design, multimedia transport, computer architecture, and embedded systems.
